Pleasant and quite light. A little brine, slightly bruised orange, flowers in full bloom. The tannin runs a touch tight, but on the whole it's an easy, legible orange - only a couple of days on skins, which is exactly why Paraschos reads so clean next to the likes of Radikon or Prinčič. A bit simple, yet tasty - the friendly end of the orange spectrum.
Orange One is the skin-contact cuvee from Paraschos, the Greek-rooted family estate at San Floriano del Collio in the Gorizia hills of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. It is a field-style blend of Ribolla Gialla, Friulano and Malvasia Istriana in roughly equal parts, grown on the marl-and-sandstone soils locally called ponca. The grapes ferment spontaneously and macerate on their skins for an extended period, lending the wine its amber colour, after which it ages for over two years in large Slavonian oak barrels and is bottled unfiltered, as noted on the label ('NON FILTRATO'). It carries the Venezia Giulia IGT designation and is bottled at the estate; the 2020 is 12.5% alcohol. This bottle was imported to Ukraine by Baidesa Logistik (Байдеса Логістик).
