Membership
Three tiers, one personal balance, and the occasional lecture. What each one is, and why it is here at all.
At a glance
What you can do
Contributor membership is a set of real tools. What follows are screenshots of the actual thing, not mockups.

Every bottle you own, with price, location, score, and value.

Note and score a wine; it saves as you type.

Photograph a bottle and let the assistant find the wine.

Batch an order, watch the discount, track what is picked up.
No account needed
Every post, wine, producer, and event write-up is open to read, with no account and no payment, and the standout wines stay open in full. A free account adds your profile, event invitations, and reminders. Members get the full event scoring and the complete wine notes on top, keep a notebook of their own, and keep this place independent.
Independent
I have no affiliation with any producer or importer. I take no commission on a bottle you buy on a recommendation, there is no advertising on this site, and there never will be. I write as someone who buys his own wine and answers to no one in the trade.
That independence is the whole point, and it runs on the readers and listeners who choose to support it directly. If the writing here is worth something to you, a membership is what keeps it going.

Keep it independent.
Everything in Contributor, plus credit on a personal balance you can spend on paid services available on the platform. Priority invitations to closed educational community meetings, when they happen. Mostly, this is the tier that keeps the site running and unbeholden.
Pick the level that fits; the perks are the same at each.
The wallet
Patron subscriptions and one-time top-ups feed a personal balance you can spend on paid services on the platform. The rules are quiet but firm.
No subscription needed
Not subscribed but want to top up your balance once, or simply support the project? One-time top-ups follow the same minimum and the same rules, with no recurring commitment.
Standalone educational content
Occasional lectures are priced separately. The fee can be drawn from your balance, with details published in each announcement.
