Seven bottles, one vintage, one cause. Every hryvnia from every ticket goes to charity, the full amount, nothing skimmed off the top. All seven were born in 1996, and they turn thirty this year. I will not name them, but here is the shape of the night. It opens with bubbles from three growers and houses I have been hunting for years, one of them poured from a magnum. Then two reds from the same Tuscan coast, made a few kilometres apart, that have been compared to each other for decades and are finally sitting at the same table. And to close, something sweet and strange from a cellar in Avize that most people never get to try. Thirty years is a long time for a bottle. Some will be singing, some will be whispering. That is the point. Folks, trust me on this one. Even if the charity part is not what brings you here, this is a freaking amazing chance to taste wines you would not get to taste otherwise. Bottles like these do not show up at tastings, they sit in cellars and get opened quietly among friends. This time the door is open. Come.

The white-wine table reconvenes for a fourth volume. Amigos Blancos is just what it sounds like: good friends and a run of whites chosen to surprise, from taut and saline to rich and textured. Expect bottles that make the case white wine is anything but simple.

A charity evening with Ar.Pe.Pe., the great traditionalist of Italy's Valtellina. Nebbiolo grown on vertiginous alpine terraces and aged with monastic patience, poured across the estate's storied crus, Sassella, Grumello and Inferno, with library Riservas reaching back over a decade. Tense, high-altitude, ageless mountain reds, and every hryvnia of your ticket goes to charity.

The Canary Islands return for a third volume. Volcanic soil, ungrafted old vines and relentless Atlantic wind, bottled by some of the islands' most thrilling growers. Whites laced with ash and sea salt, reds that come wild and weightless off Tenerife's terraces. Few places on earth taste like this, and fewer still get poured side by side.

The bag comes out again, volume seven. A brown-bag night for grower Champagne: bottles poured from the bag so the wine speaks before the label does. Low dosage, high tension, small estates only, and a room that takes its bubbles seriously.
