Pét-nat Riesling

Somma grows Cabernet Sauvignon at home in the south of Moldova. Riesling is one of the grapes it brings in from friends in the Codru, in the centre of the country. It travels as juice, not as grapes, so that it arrives undamaged.

Somma describes its pét-nat Riesling in three steps. Fermentation begins in the vat and finishes in the bottle, sealed with a crown cap. The wine then spends at least 12 months on its fine lees. It is disgorged just before sale.

That description was written for the 2023. By the same rule, a 2024 would wait until the second half of 2025 at the earliest.
