Langhe Nebbiolo

The Langhe Nebbiolo is the Culassos' wine for drinking while the Barbaresco waits. It comes from their own south-west-facing vines on Sant'Agata marls with limestone and clay, and it never sees wood.

The grapes ferment for 15 to 20 days in temperature-controlled steel. The wine rests about six months in steel and then a while in bottle before release.

The Enoteca Regionale del Barbaresco describes a very wet spring, with May the coolest month in years. On 6 July rain, hail and strong wind hit a large area without compromising the year as a whole. Heat returned from the second half of July through August, with temperatures above 35C.
