Barbaresco Faset

The family makes two Barbarescos from the Faset cru. The Duesoli is one steep plot aged in barriques; the Faset is the wider picture of the cru, aged in large oak. 2021 was the Faset's fourth vintage.

The Nebbiolo grows on south-west-facing slopes at 250 to 270 metres, on Sant'Agata marls with limestone and clay. It ferments for about twenty days in temperature-controlled steel, stays on its skins a while longer, and then spends around twelve months in large French oak.

The Enoteca Regionale del Barbaresco describes a cold, snowy winter and a mild March. April brought frosts, but they did not affect the Nebbiolo. The summer stayed fine and without excess into the second half of September, when wide swings between night and day set up the ripening.
