Despite the aggression of youth, this is surprisingly drinkable and approachable. Tobacco, various spices weaving through red and black fruits. Touch of chocolate and earth. Not hugely complex on the nose yet, but it's rounded and cohesive. Tasty - not super detailed, not super complex, but genuinely enjoyable. Tannins still powerful, good acidity. Lovely freshness and fruit on the finish. Look, it's just delicious, what can I say? Reminds me a bit of the 2007, though that one stayed closed even with age - this drinks beautifully right now. Compared to the other wines of the evening, there's an elegance here that really stands out.
