The 2021 release of Sassicaia - 85% Cabernet Sauvignon / 15% Cabernet Franc, twenty-four months in French oak barriques with around a third new. 2021 had a long, well-paced growing season with welcome mid-August rain arriving in time to save the harvest; production slightly above 2020. Cooler, classic profile - purity and precision rather than power. Yields up versus the frost-hit 2020. Often talked about in the same breath as 2016 and 1985 as a structured, age-worthy Sassicaia.
