Brut Rosé Reserve is Bründlmayer's sparkling rosé, built on the estate's red varieties. The importer's back label gives this bottling as equal thirds Saint-Laurent, Zweigelt and Pinot Noir; the house blend shifts release to release, and US importer material for a neighbouring lot lists 40% Zweigelt with 30% each of the other two. The fruit comes from chalky parcels across the estate, mostly southeast-facing so the wine picks up warmth alongside the freshness. Picking runs from the first week of September into the second week of October, the grapes travel to the cellar in small cases, and only the heart of the must goes to the sparkling.
The varietal base wines are fermented separately and go through malolactic fermentation before the cuvée is assembled - the more powerful Zweigelt lots are diverted to the still rosé instead. Second fermentation happens in bottle in the classic way, with sugar and yeast added at tirage. This lot was bottled in May 2023 (lot code L16372/05/23, the importer's date of manufacture 22 May 2023), hand-riddled, and disgorged in May 2025, which puts it at roughly 24 months on the lees - the top of the house's stated 18 to 24 month window.
