Join to read it and the restV.S. stands for vendimia seleccionada, selected harvest; for the 2014 the grapes were sorted twice, in the vineyard and again in the cellar. This is the only Listán Negro in Borja Pérez's Ignios Orígenes line, and it comes from the same vineyard every year: own-rooted vines in Buenavista del Norte at about 400 m, on volcanic soil with red clay, which he took over in 2012. Sources put the vines at 40 to more than 50 years old.
The cellar side has changed over the years. The 2014 was cold-soaked for three days, fermented in steel and aged a year in 228 litre barriques. By 2020 and 2021 the bunches went whole into concrete, with a maceration of about 30 days in 2021, and then spent a year in a large, used oak foudre. It goes into bottle unstabilised and unfiltered.
The 2022 made 1,870 numbered bottles at 12%, half a degree below the 2021.
