Mushroom broth, salted nuts, maple syrup, white and yellow fruits - classic vin jaune territory. Intense on both nose and palate, and it feels deceptively light despite 14.5% alcohol. Salty, savoury, deeply satisfying. Not the most profound or layered vin jaune I've encountered, but absolutely solid and exactly what you want at the end of a night like this. Does the job beautifully without demanding too much of you.
Haha, I love pouring this wine for the uninitiated and watching the chaos unfold - some fall in love, others recoil. Vin jaune really can be a Trojan horse, a divisive little marvel. But as they say - to each their own madness.
Mushroom broth, salted nuts, caramelised onions, maple syrup, white and yellow fruits - all the usual suspects are here. It's intense in both aroma and flavour but feels deceptively light despite its 14.5% alcohol. Salty, savoury, and deeply satisfying. Maybe not the most profound or deep vin jaune I've ever tasted, but a brilliant way to end the night.
