Beautiful. Delicate, tasty, properly complex - bloody and ferrous with bruised-fruit undertones threading through. Fresh on the palate, lifted, nice fruit core, mineral edge underneath. Moderately funky, never tipping over. Pure Pupillin Poulsard at its best - translucent and perfumed, low-tannin, all about lift and salinity.
Ploussard is the Pupillin spelling of Poulsard, and Domaine de Saint Pierre's estate bottling comes from Pupillin and surrounding Arbois parcels worked by the domaine itself. Whole-cluster, spontaneous fermentation, no fining or filtration, and zero added sulfur - same protocol Dodane uses across his estate reds. 2023 in the Jura was a warmer vintage with good volumes after a run of frost years, and Poulsard at 12.3 percent reads as the variety usually does here: pale, translucent, low-tannin, perfumed with cranberry, rose petal, and a slight saline tug from the marl-rich terroirs around Arbois and Pupillin.
