Join to read it and the restCantina Produttori Nebbiolo di Carema first made a Riserva in 1979, from the 1974 harvest. It carries the white label, and it needs three years of ageing, eighteen months of them in cask.
The 2017 harvest went into both versions of Carema. The cooperative's black-label Carema 2017 is the shorter route. The Riserva is made from the best-exposed zones of the bowl around the village, and after its three years it gets a long rest in bottle before release.
The wine is bottled at source, in Carema, by a cooperative of small growers, many of them part-time, who keep the terraces in use.
Same year as the black label, a longer road.
