Join to read it and the restLunaneuva is the Carema cooperative's metodo classico brut rosé, a Vino Spumante di Qualità from 100% Nebbiolo rather than a Carema DOC, since the appellation covers only still red. By every sign it is the same cuvée the coop earlier sold under the Villanova label, though the current release, with far longer lees ageing, need not drink like the earlier one: the regional consortium now lists only Lunaneuva as the coop's sparkling wine, the producer's own site carries a single unnamed Spumante Metodo Classico sheet, and the Ukrainian importer's Lunaneuva listing reuses the Villanova description almost verbatim, still naming VillaNova in the body. That producer sheet gives the method: hand harvest in crates from early to mid September, a brief maceration on the skins for colour, soft pressing and settling, fermentation at 16 C, and a minimum of 12 months in bottle, which for a metodo classico means on the lees; it states 12% alcohol where this bottle's label reads 12.5%. Italian tastings of the current release in 2026 report 36 months on the lees and about 4,000 bottles, well beyond the sheet's minimum. The Cantina dei Produttori Nebbiolo di Carema was founded in 1960 by ten resident growers (the first vintage it sold was the 1955, in 1958) and farms terraced pergolas held up by the stone-and-lime pilun on morainic soils between 300 and 650 m on the left bank of the Dora Baltea; its pages give 13 to 15 ha of vineyard depending on which one you read and, as of 2015, 101 members of whom 71 deliver grapes, all part-time. The Ukrainian sticker confirms 100% Nebbiolo and WineWine as the importer.
