Ooof - so much better than the previous bottle. More structure, more depth. A beautiful bouquet of strawberry compote, rhubarb, quince, honey, flowers, and that flinty spark you get from a lighter.
The perlage is decent (well, it's a pét-nat), and the structure is solid - good fruit, good minerality, and a long, satisfying finish. It's easy, but seriously delicious. A touch of herbaceousness adds a cool edge.
The next release of this wine drinks much better today, or perhaps this specific bottle was just in poor shape after the journey. Either way, it made for a pleasant midday drink---easy thanks to its 10% ABV and higher acidity. It felt much like an alcohol-infused mors, which may sound unappealing, but it was surprisingly enjoyable. Non-pretentious and fruity, with an interesting influence of Chenin Blanc. Need to give it another try later.
