This is a good, complex, and intriguing wine - but 2021 clearly has the upper hand. The 2020 feels raw and a bit unruly, full of black fruits, volatile acidity, sweet spices, and the edge of spoilage. It's bold on the palate - fresh, juicy, mineral, crunchy - but the evolution in the glass didn't offer much of a journey. Wines from Robino really are all over the place. One bottle can seduce you completely, another might leave you cold. Still, I'm willing to keep chasing - when it lands, it really lands.
