Bottle variation is definitely a thing here. This one opened with a full-on reduction blast - it took time (and patience) to see what was underneath, but I'm glad I waited.
Rhubarb, Nordic berries, baked apples, and pastry. Spices? Plenty. It's salty, mineral, even a bit bloody - delicious in its own way, but... not exactly easygoing. There's a confrontational edge to it that makes it interesting but not something I'm eager to revisit soon.
A charming wine with distinctive notes of rhubarb and baked red apples, complemented by subtle pastry dough aromas. While not exceptionally complex, it shows decent structural integrity. The palate features bright acidity and an intriguing saline quality. A ferrous, blood-like mineral note adds intrigue to the profile. Though the finish is moderate in length, the overall impression is highly enjoyable. A wine that prioritizes drinkability and immediate pleasure over complexity.
