Tasting Notes
Compared to the 2011, this bottle is more developed yet feels slightly sterile, with notable oxidation characterized by honey, bruised apples, pastilla, sea notes, caramel, and a Jerez-like quality. The nose, however, is somewhat muted. The real intrigue lies on the palate, where it is neat and seamless, offering good acidity and a touch of bitterness. Flavors of lemon curd, sea notes, caramel, and bruised apples come together beautifully. While it might not be in its best shape, it still provides a captivating and enjoyable experience.
This bottle has developed in an intriguing way, exuding aromas of wet cellar, damp leaves, and wet wood, with a subdued fruit presence. It's further characterised by wet wool and band-aid nuances, along with hints of iron and asphalt. On the palate, the wine is delicate yet complex and thoroughly delicious. Its multilayered profile is persistent and simply gorgeous. The condition of the bottle is excellent.
