Tasting Notes
This wine consistently impresses, offering very good concentration and a rich, complex profile. Compared to Gravonia, it's less fruit-forward and more oaky, and also still feels absurdly young. The nose reveals intriguing notes of seashells, nuts, yellow fruits, mushrooms, floral touches, and butter. Its depth and complexity promise even more evolution over time.
This classical wine presents raw cashew, seashells, and mushroom notes, less fruit-forward than Gravonia, as expected, making it a more demanding style. The palate is graced with honey, yellow plum, floral touches, and a hint of butter, adding richness. A subtle smokiness and mineral quality underpin its character. The finish is long, multilayered, and complex, culminating in a truly beautiful wine experience.
About
Viña Tondonia Blanco Reserva is a Viura-based blend with only 10% of Malvasia - a rather rare grape in Rioja as it represents only 0.23% of Denomination's total cultivated area. The Viña Tondonia Blanco Reserva spends six years in oak. Only 19,000 bottles produced. After bottling, the wine spends up to four years in a bottle to acquire a certain smoothness and a range of aromatic nuances.
