Tasting Notes
Chardonnay, and very young still. There's that taut tension reminiscent of Jura, plus decent minerality. More structured than the White Lite, with better volume. Needs time, but the bones are good.
About
100% Chardonnay from 2.5 ha across Vajka and Žitavou villages, Nitra district. Planted 2018, single guyot at 4,800 vines/ha. Clay-loam on calcareous loess, east-south-west exposure. Fully hand-worked, no synthetics, herbicides, or pesticides.
Hand-harvested, direct pressed, fermented with native yeasts in new 500 - 1,000L oak barrels and a 600L plastic egg. Aged 10 months in the same vessels. Gravity bottled July 2023, unfined, unfiltered, zero SO₂.
