Tasting Notes
Honeyed pear and walnuts with gentle oxidative notes - a touch wild, but clean and genuinely tasty. The acidity carries well, and there's this lovely interplay of salinity, fermented tang, and minerality on the palate. Could use more depth, but what's here is honest and drinkable. Solid introduction to the style.
About
100% Welschriesling from a 0.6 ha organic vineyard in Vajka nad Žitavou, Nitra district. Vines planted 2018, single guyot training at 4,800 vines/ha. Clay-loam topsoil over loess, herbs between rows. Hand-harvested, direct pressed, fermented with indigenous yeasts. Aged 10 months in 300L oak on coarse lees. Gravity bottled without fining, filtration, or SO₂.
