Exactly what you would expect from Matassa and Muscat of Alexandria. Aromatic, complex, multilayered yet approachable and bright macerated wine. With a well-integrated tannin, balance is almost perfect. Still has good acidity, so there are many years to live on. The bouquet and flavours are full of field flowers, canned pineapple, baked apple, white fruits and spices.
Three-week whole-cluster maceration with no extraction. Racked and pressed into 2500L foundres for ageing.
People keep warning me about Matassa, but again, it is not crazy! Yeah, some elegant soaked apples, field flowers, honey and kombucha. And it's good! Thanks to skin contact, a little bit tarty. Well integrated acidity and medium finish. Tasty!
