Saignée rosé from Petropol - 60% Pinot Noir bled off, plus Pinot Gris, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon. A bit closed on the nose, berry-candy aromatics, slight bitter edge. Fresh, but a touch heavy for the style. I like it - simple, which isn't a knock.
Saignée rosé from Petropol - 60% Pinot Noir bled off, plus Pinot Gris, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. 13.5% ABV. 'Світанок' = 'dawn' in Ukrainian, picking up the rosé's pale-pink colour. Style is round and approachable rather than the snappy Provençal mould - the saignée extraction adds berry depth, and the field-blend co-fermentation contributes texture.
