Soils range from deep clay-loam at the bottom to stonier, thin-topsoil sections over oolitic limestone at the top. House protocol - full destemming, cold soak, indigenous yeast - then around eighteen months in oak, with new oak in the 60-70% range (Étienne-era level). 2014 in the Côte de Nuits delivered refined, fresh, terroir-transparent reds, less rich than 2009 or 2012 but riper than 2008. June 28 hail hit the Beaune side hardest; Nuits fared better.
