Beautiful nose - violets, black berries, liquorice, and a whiff of autumn leaves. It's concentrated yet strikingly elegant, with cool energy pulsing beneath the surface. On the palate, it's juicy and sharply defined, with brilliant acidity and firm, youthful greenness that hasn't yet settled. A touch of smoke adds to its depth. Clearly opened too early - this is a wine built for time, with serious potential. Give it 7 - 10 years and it might just sing.

Filipa Pato is a winegrower and winemaker from Bairrada, Portugal. She focuses on local grapes only (Baga, Bical, Arinto, Cercial and Maria Gomes) and produces wines with minimal intervention. No make-up, as she says.
