Playful, vivid, and wonderfully unserious - this is the kind of wine that makes you feel like summer is already staring you in the eyes. It's an apricot-citrus compote dusted with mango, blossoms, and orange zest. The tannic structure is fun and present, but well balanced, riding on a mineral backbone. And while there's plenty to admire here, the wine doesn't ask you to overthink it - just to smile and enjoy the moment.
While macerated whites aren't usually my preference, Matassa consistently proves to be an exception. This wine offers an intense and aromatic bouquet of flowers, VA, orange zest, mango, and a hint of soap. It's easy to drink, delightfully fruity, and fun. Definitely a wine to enjoy in the moment, without any reservations!
Intense bouquet of lilac flowers, VA, tar soap, orange zest, and mango. Easy to drink and easy to understand, yet delicious and charming. Well balanced and well executed.
