Tasting Notes
Tasted blind. The maceration and colour gave it away immediately - that coppery hue, the gentle grip of PG skin contact. I had a few candidates in mind, but once the importer was revealed, pinpointing the wine and vintage was easy. Consistent with how I remember it: strawberry compote, rose water, peach, a whisper of caramel. Still friendly, still approachable, maybe even rounder than last time. Not the most complex skin-contact out there, but generous and honest. The kind of wine that doesn't try to impress and impresses anyway.
Haven't tasted in a few years and it pretty much stayed the same - bright signs of maceration (colour, tannin) and luckily without any dirty stuff. Friendly, approachable, maybe a tad too subtle on the nose but quite generous on the palate. Strawberry compote, rose water, peach, caramel. Round and quaffable.
I tasted it blind, and we all guessed it. Macerated Pinot Grigio is hard to miss. It is friendly and clean with a subtle bouquet of wild strawberry compote, rose water, rose peach and caramel. A matching palate, almost perfectly balanced, round and calm. Quaffable, you just want more.
