Cru 479 Campiani Ovest Blanc de Blancs 50 lune M3

Across the hill from Campiani Est, the west side of Campiani is Chardonnay. One harvest, Nicola Gatta opened his picking there, noting that it ripened about fifteen days later than lower-lying vineyards, and that he picks for the balance between ripeness and acidity. The parcellare labels carry his line "suoli calcarei, nessun compromesso": limestone soils, no compromise.

He bottles the parcel on its own as the parcellare 479, a Nature with 50 lune on the lees, no dosage and no added sulphites. This release was previewed at Gatta's Première in December 2024 and went out in March 2025, a year after the March 2024 release.

At that preview Gatta found it less ready than the year before, with a rigidity and, in his words, a promise of longevity.
