What a wine. So glad I had the evening to spend with this one - watching it unfold was half the pleasure.
Generous and multilayered, beautifully constructed. The nose opens with sweet citrus, spice, and nuts, then lifts into iodine, chalk, bruised apple, a touch of crème brûlée. Sharp acidity carries everything through to a long, salty and satisfying finish.
Wow, this was unexpectedly delicious. I mean, I really like this winemaker, but not every bottle lands - yet somehow they keep surprising me. This one had striking intensity, both on the nose and palate. Generous, multilayered, and just beautifully put together. A sweet citrus-driven bouquet, lifted by hints of iodine, chalk, bruised apples, and a touch of crème brûlée. Sharp acidity carries everything through to a long, satisfying finish. Pure pleasure to drink.
