This wine opens with a seductive bouquet, rich in red fruits and red flowers, accented by chocolate crumbles. However, the high, persimmon-like tannins are strikingly astringent, almost aggressively dominating the mouthfeel. The palate, in contrast, feels disappointingly flat. This perplexing contrast leaves me questioning the wine's balance. Perhaps extensive decanting could unlock its potential, but as it stands, it's a challenging and somewhat baffling experience.
