What the hell is this? Grabbed a cheap bottle expecting something simple to drink alone, maybe finish, maybe not, who cares. Then this shows up. Sure, it's a bit mainstream - ripe cherry, flowers, touch of spice, nothing revolutionary. But fuck me, it drinks beautifully. The acidity is spot on, keeping everything fresh and clean and stupid drinkable. There's a whisper of barnyard way in the back, just setting the mood rather than taking over. It's like expecting a reheated pizza and getting a proper meal instead. My glass keeps emptying itself somehow.
