Strict and chalky - pure Montgueux. Green apple, lemon zest, toast, intense minerality. Very young and vibrant, the acidity cuts through everything. Focused and precise, not trying to charm, just being unapologetically itself.
Whisper-quiet stuff - white fruits, bruised lemons, and this brilliant maritime salinity that basically saves the whole show. Recently disgorged (early this year), and honestly, it shows. You could call this a "demanding style" if you're being generous, but fuck me, it's flirting with emptiness. The line between austere elegance and just... nothing... is paper-thin here. That sea-spray minerality though - properly compelling, almost makes you forgive the rest. Needs time, or maybe just needs a different drinker. I'm scoring this mostly for that haunting salinity that keeps pulling me back for another sip, even as I wonder if there's actually anything there.
