Langhe Nebbiolo

Tasted blind and knew immediately this was something new to me. First Rinaldi - what an introduction. The nose promises greatness despite being wound tight: red fruits and flowers wrapped in rhubarb tartness, dark chocolate crumbs, hints of perfume and jammy sweetness. Beautiful stuff. The palate's all gorgeous tannin and juicy potential, but like a clenched fist - needs time to unfurl. This is a wine caught between youth and destiny, and destiny's winning.
