Seriously, I just love this wine. Not complex, not pretentious - just so clean and honest that I can't help but enjoy it. Great acidity and freshness, neat fruit core that doesn't go overboard thanks to lovely lees influence keeping things interesting. Truth is, I'm not a Cava fan, but this one's definitely a favourite. Plus the price is absolutely right. Sometimes you don't need complexity when honesty tastes this good.
Of course I brought this to the riverside party. Yes, some friends are rolling their eyes because I'm constantly hauling bottles of this to every gathering, but damn it, this Cava deserves the loyalty. It's delicate, properly acidic, beautifully made. Sure, there are hints of those slightly annoying (cheap) Cava notes lurking in the background, but they're so well-integrated and the wine's so pleasurable to drink that you blow right past them. This is what good-value wine should be - not trying to be Champagne, not apologizing for being Cava, just being delicious at a price that lets you bring multiple bottles without wincing. Great stuff that knows its job and does it perfectly.
