After the somewhat controversial experience with the Vrede of the same year, I was hesitant to open this bottle. However, it turned out to be a beauty. This neat cold-climate style Pinot Noir presents a beautiful nose with notes of raspberry, cherry, blackberry, blood, underbrush, tomato leaf, and fried nuts. It's delicate and juicy, with soft tannins and a long, evolving aftertaste. The palate offers nice flavors of smoke, black cherry, spices, and underbrush. This wine is truly engaging and a delight to savor.
