Atanasius plays it safe. Nordic forest berries all the way, nothing more to say on that front. Where it wins is structure - properly silky, everything in its right place. The tannins know how to behave, the acidity sings, and the finish stretches out respectably. But where's the depth? This is like reading a well-written story that forgot to have a point. Technically accomplished, genuinely pleasant to drink, worthy of the score. Yet for Gut Oggau, you expect personality quirks, not just good behaviour. Atanasius feels like he's on his best manners when you wanted to hear his secrets. Maybe time in cellar with change that.
