This is beautiful. Properly beautiful. Fresh raspberries and sour cherries tumbling over dried rose petals - the kind of perfumed complexity that makes you stop mid-sip and pay attention. There's a savoury undertone, all herbs and tobacco and earth, that keeps this from being just another pretty face. Medium body feels right, sophisticated without trying too hard. The finish goes on, detailed and persistent, whispering about what's coming. Unlike those painful Bottes Rouges youngsters I tasted the same day, this is already singing. Give it three and more years and it'll be fucking opera.
