It's hard to find the right words to capture these wines and the experience they bring. You could debate endlessly about their "Baroloness"—some might argue they feel closer to the soul of Volnay than to the kingly essence of Piedmont's finest. But I approach wine simply, with few pretensions. To me, wine is, first and foremost, about what's in the glass, not just a label on the bottle. And this wine is here to be enjoyed today, not locked away for decades (though, I won't deny, dreaming of a delicious future is a joy of its own).
With a glass of Barolo from Comm. G.B. Burlotto, you can't help but purr with contentment. It's a dance of elegance, delicacy, complexity, and power—even in the most intense crus. A style unique yet so delicious that it invites you to pause and simply savour. And to taste wines from different corners of Barolo, all from the same vintage, in a single evening? It's a rare experience, one that sweeps you off your feet and beautifully brings terroir to life. Hats off to Alessio and Vasyl—they created a truly unforgettable moment. My deepest thanks for the journey.

On one hand, there are the typical notes of Sauvignon Blanc, but here you find some beautiful notes of lime, grapefruit, bread, cream, flowers, and yellow plums. The nose is quite perfumed yet not pompous at all. On the palate, it's remarkably fresh, slightly effervescent, and a bit mineral. Delicate and very tasty.

This wine is truly remarkable. It exudes a perfumed elegance yet delivers a distinct fruit intensity with notes of cherry, black currant, and raspberry. Hints of spice, wood, and wet earth add complexity. Despite its power, it remains beautifully delicate. It requires time to fully open, revealing a fresh and robust character with firm, slightly youthful tannins. While the tannins are somewhat tingling and dry, the juiciness shines through. An excellent value.

This wine is both charming and intriguing, making it easy to fall in love with its allure. The slightly developed nose reveals an enticing blend of jammy fruits, amaro, licorice, tar, black fruits, wild strawberries, and the earthy aroma of a damp forest floor. Its concentration and intensity are matched by a wonderful structure, maintaining elegance and subtlety. The finish is long and delicious.

This wine enchants with its delicate and subtle perfume, offering an array of wild strawberries, paprika, red flowers, autumn leaves, and mushrooms. As it unfolds, you discover hints of pickles, white pepper, herbs, hazelnut, and pomegranate. It brims with tension and energy while maintaining a friendly, delicate, and juicy palate. Compared to Monvigliero, Cannubi presents a riper nose and a more structured palate. This wine captivates with its complexity and depth, revealing layers of sweet strawberries, dark cherry, black currant jam, night flowers, sweet herbs, and licorice. The palate is tense, showcasing beautiful notes of hei cha, spices, and wood. While it's apparent that this wine is still a bit young, with some rough edges, it nonetheless offers impressive balance. Truly remarkable.

This is the second release of Castelletto, and it certainly captures interest. Compared to other crus, it stands out as the most concentrated and pronounced, while still reflecting the winemaker's style. The nose is slightly perfumed yet restrained, with hints of blackberry, mint, cassis, licorice, and earth, perhaps even a touch of dark chocolate. On the palate, it is intense and bold. It exudes power, energy, and tension, suggesting significant potential for development. The wine is complex and multilayered, with intriguing mineral notes. The finish reveals subtle hints of chalk and iron, adding to its overall depth.
