Puisieulx Grand Cru Les Petites Vignes Pinot Noir (2022)

A blanc de noirs from some of the domaine's oldest vines: massal-selection Pinot Noir planted in 1968-69 by Aurore Casanova's mother in the lieu-dit Les Petites Vignes, Puisieulx grand cru, Montagne de Reims. The parcel sits on clay-silt soils over hard limestone with an east exposure, is certified organic, and is worked to the biodynamic calendar with hand harvest at full maturity.

Vinification is the house's low-intervention pattern: traditional pressing on a stainless press, spontaneous fermentation, and elevage on the lees in barrels without racking. The bottling blends two to three harvests with the parcel's perpetual reserve of Pinot Noir, started in 2016 under the same winemaking, which also provides the liqueur for the extra-brut dosage. Bottled in summer without fining or filtration.

This release is built on the 2022 base harvest with reserve wines - bottled 31 July 2023 and disgorged in October 2025, per the back label, some 27 months after bottling. 7165 bottles; a merchant tech sheet for this release gives the dosage as 1 g/L. The domaine has described these old Pinot Noir vines as slow to open but its coup de coeur year after year.
