Étoile du Raisin

With little expectation, Étoile du Raisin turned out to be a truly pleasant surprise. While the nose is quite natural, it presents beautifully with notes of leather, prunes, chocolate, black fruit jam, licorice root, sage, barnyard, and a notable amount of volatile acidity (VA), which is well-integrated and not disturbing. Despite the high alcohol content (around 15% ABV which you barely notice), it remains fresh with lovely mature tannins and great balance. Voluminous and rich, this wine is absolutely delicious.
