Roses everywhere - super perfumed nose that's genuinely stunning. Strawberry, strawberry jam, so much beauty here. The tannin's gone a bit dry, but the acidity holds everything together and it drinks beautifully. Guessed it was Montalcino before checking the label, which felt like a small victory. This is eleven years old now and showing exactly why Salicutti has such a cult following - their Rosso was famously called "the Holy Grail of Sangiovese purity" and I'm not arguing. Delicious, elegant, properly special. This is what happens when you give good wine time.
