Ratings
White Rioja that genuinely surprises. The nose is demanding: unrefined sunflower oil, olives, smoke, propolis, lime, yellow fruits. Oily texture pierced by sharp acidity and a lovely bitterness. There's something almost tactile about the waxiness, like you could press it between your fingers. Not a crowd-pleaser, but fascinating if you're willing to meet it halfway.
This is wild in the best way. 15 days of skin contact, then 11 months in French oak of various sizes - white Rioja really can surprise you. But make no mistake, this isn't a wine for everyone. The nose is complex and demanding: unrefined sunflower oil, olives, smoke, propolis, lime, apples. It's oily in texture yet pierced by pinpoint acidity and a lovely bitterness. What's fascinating is how waxy it feels - almost tactile, like you could press it between your fingers.
