Look, it's a bit boring. Let's be honest. But it's good boring - the kind of Rioja you actually want to drink at this price point. Velvety texture, medium-to-full body, opulent without being obnoxious. Black fruits, leather, liquorice, warm spices. Oak that's present but well-judged, sweetness that stays on the right side of the line. Nothing here will surprise you, nothing will make you reach for your notebook. But sometimes you just want a reliable, generous red that does exactly what it promises. This delivers. And it has a good natty twist.
