Third encounter with this wine, and it keeps evolving. Earlier tastings showed it shifting from delicate red-fruit elegance to darker, Nero-driven territory with olives and raw meat. Now: still young, fruit still remarkably fresh. Roasted seeds, eucalyptus, blackberry and ripe cherry. A whiff of barnyard on the pour that blew off within minutes. Great acidity - fresh, bright, vivid wine. It simply needs more time still. The wine keeps finding new ways to show itself.
Nero kicks in. The bouquet is dominated by dark fruits instead of red ones. Notes of dust, fried nuts, dark olives, orange, underbrush and raw meat. Good acidity, juicy and moderately intense. It has a funky finish of mountain stream (e.g. so2 with iron).
What a lovely Cerasuolo. Delicate and sophisticated. Dried cherry, red flowers, briar, forest floor and blackberry. Almost perfectly balanced, velvety and elegant structure.
