It was a blind tasting from black glasses. I wanted to have something everyone would easily guess. New Zealand to the rescue! Unfortunately, only one person was confident enough to call this wine out. And it's funny because all the correct descriptors were named, they were flying in the air, and yet...
A tropical bomb. Gooseberry, black currant leaves, fennel, citrus, mango and passion fruit. Round, fresh and delicious. But after several more serious wines, this one was an outcast for me.
Unexpectedly nice. Aye, it's a tropical bomb, but with a nice bouquet of fennel, citrus, mango, passion fruit, and (typical) black currant leaves. Round with fresh mouthfeel and flavours of fennel and menthol.
