Each vintage of this wine offers a unique expression, and the 2018 vintage stands out as the most 'classical' and 'austere' compared to the others I've experienced from this producer. Unlike the 2019 vintage, which is full of chocolate and licorice notes, or the sweet, funky and exuberant 2021, this vintage presents ripe red fruits and underbrush, with familiar licorice, chocolate, and jammy notes that enhance depth and volume without overpowering. It's well-balanced, with the 14.5% ABV noticeable yet harmonized by good fruit, touch of funk and decent acidity, making it non-disturbing. Overall, it's a complex and charming wine.
