U Més U is the Catalan sparkling house also known as 1+1=3 ('U més u fan tres', 'one plus one makes three'), founded in 2000 in Font-Rubí, in the Alt Penedès north of Barcelona. The project was started by Josep Antoni Bonell and the oenologist Josep Piñol, and is now run by the next generation of the Piñol family, who farm around eighty hectares of estate vineyards.
The house works its land organically, with CCPAE organic certification (all of its wines and cavas certified organic since 2018) and a long focus on low-intervention winemaking, including one of the first no-sulfite-added cavas, made in 2014. It bottles traditional-method sparkling wines and still wines under the Cava and Penedès designations of origin, across the 1+1=3, Anaïs, Dahlia and Cygnus ranges, using both the classic Penedès varieties (Xarel·lo, Macabeu, Parellada) and Pinot Noir and Garnacha.
