Perfect timing for this wine. It's developed a bit but hasn't lost that youthful charm and freshness. This is their bloody ENTRY-LEVEL, and it's already spectacular. Pear candy, buttered toast, bruised apple, honey, nuts, oil, cotton candy, honeysuckle, touch of Jerez. Almost full-bodied but impeccably balanced. Every sip is pure bliss - fleshy and racy with bright acids, pretty mousse, saline finish. Most producers can't hit this level with their prestige cuvées, and here's Egly doing it with their "basic" wine. Ridiculous. Wanted to give it another year or two, but the charity tasting called for something special. No regrets whatsoever.
Though still quite young, this wine has become event more delicious and interesting, gaining in composure and structure over the past year. The nose is a delightful and intense medley of pear candy, buttered toast, bruised apple, honey, nuts, oil, cotton candy, and honeysuckle, with a subtle Jerez touch. Almost full-bodied, it presents a pronounced and intense profile, yet its balance and structure are impeccable. Each sip is a blissful experience, showcasing sophistication and complexity. It's a pity that my stash is dwindling.
This 'entry-level' wine is truly wonderful. It offers a sophisticated bouquet of honeysuckle, pear candy, plum, and fresh bread, subtly enriched by notes of honey, nuts, and oil. The complexity and multilayered nature are impressive, yet the wine remains approachable and inviting.
Almost full-bodied, it makes a strong impact and leaves a long-lasting impression, concluding with a pleasant bitterness. Its round and polished character speaks to its near-perfect balance.
This wine demonstrates that 'entry-level' can still mean an experience of depth and sophistication, making it a memorable and delightful choice.
It's wonderful to revisit this wine in such a short span and find it consistently delightful. The bouquet of honeysuckle, fresh bread, and stone fruits, enhanced by subtle hints of nuts and oil, is as enchanting as ever. The wine strikes a good balance, with a racy, intense, and generous character. The long aftertaste further accentuates its appeal. This is great and I want to witness its development.
Les Prémices, on my personal scale, aligns with Bérêche Brut Réserve as an incredible "entry-level" wine. It's an all-rounder that subtly enhances any occasion without overwhelming, bringing immense joy.
The wine offers a delightful mix of tarragon, honeysuckle, fresh bread, and stone fruits. Its balance is commendable, coupled with a racy character and nice mousse. The structure is sound, leading to a long aftertaste. The experience is enhanced further by a pleasant saline finish.
