Herbs take the lead here - more bitter than sweet or medicinal - with bruised apples, cider, and a warm echo of chausson aux pommes. Chamomile tea and a hint of echinacea drift in after a moment, adding a quiet, earthy undertone. The structure is impressive - taut yet delicate, with depth and length that unfold slowly. There's a beautiful oxidative touch on the palate that never overwhelms, just frames everything in a slightly autumnal haze. Complex and drinkable in equal measure - a wine to sit with, glass after glass.
"UR/R19" means Ursules / Recolte 19.
A truly remarkable wine that masterfully balances restraint with luxuriance. The aromatic profile centers around a sophisticated apple theme - fresh red apples, bruised fruit, and artisanal cider notes - evolving into more complex territory with suggestions of apple jam and warm apple pastries (chausson aux pommes). The herbal elements add fascinating complexity, weaving together medicinal echinacea and soft chamomile notes.
The wine shows impressive vinosity and structural depth, delivering complexity without sacrificing delicacy. With aeration, as the effervescence gently subsides, it reveals additional layers of depth and nuance. The finish is persistent and satisfying.
