Les Vignes de Bisseuil is Egly-Ouriet's Premier Cru cuvée from a single ~1.5-hectare plot in Bisseuil, in the Grande Vallée de la Marne directly adjacent to Aÿ. Bisseuil is unusual for that sub-region: Chardonnay outweighs Pinot Noir in the village's plantings, where the rest of the Vallée leans Pinot. The Egly parcel is south-facing, thin topsoil over pure chalk, vines forty-plus years old.
For the BV20 base, the blend lands around 75% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir per the importer sticker (a small share of Meunier appeared in the prior BV19 release; check the back label if relevant). Indigenous yeasts; barrel-fermented and aged with around 10% new oak; no malolactic. Forty-eight months on lees, 2 g/L dosage, unfined and unfiltered, hand-disgorged July 2025. 12.5% ABV.
